Glowing from Within

September 14, 2014

There is nothing more gorgeous than healthy, glowy skin. As I would like to think that my skin is always glowing like a Kardashian, I know lack of sleep, water, or sometimes being a little sick, can make skin appear a bit dull.

I first tried this by borrowing the Nars Multiple form while visiting my friend, Lauren, in Brooklyn. In stick form it was a stunning highlight, that was even more beautiful in photos. I applied it under my eye brows, down the bridge of my nose, and in my cupids bow The highlighting benefits were amazing.
I was further intrigued when I came across (my now favorite) vlogger, Hannah Maggs using the Nars Illuminator form in her everyday makeup tutorial. She not only used it at the end of her routine to highlight, but she also mixed it in with her foundation step to add an all over illumination which equaled beautiful glowing skin!
(A little hand swatch of Copacabana)

I couldn't wait to try this out, and to be honest I love the results. I purchased Copacabana in the illuminator form and I use it almost every single day. For a more low key look, I just use it to highlight at the end of my routine, but to add a little light on a dull skin day, I love mixing it into my moisturizer or BB cream. The first day I tried this I got a complement on how "beautiful and glowing my skin looks,".. I can't even make that up!

If you're not up to dishing out the cash for the Nars version or find it too "disco-ball-y," (seriously I have read comments that say that) then I suggest investigating Revlon's Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminators or L'Oreal's Studio Secrets Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer at your local drugstore for a very similar effect.

What is your favorite way to brighten up your skin on a dull day?

xx Mollie
