Music Moment: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

October 9, 2014

It's really no secret that I love all things Andrew McMahon. If you're not sure who I'm talking about, Andrew was the lead singer/pianist/songwriter in the band Jack's Mannequin and in Something Corporate before that. He also wrote music briefly for the (also brief) show Smash. I see you, "I Heard Your Voice in a Dream."
He has recently embarked on a new solo project, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, and if you love Andrew's previous projects, you're gonna love this.

He keeps that same familiar sound, approachable lyrics and melodies that stay in your head all day long and just make you feel happy, with a hint of something that feels somewhat 80s-inspired in there. Although it is familiar, there is a definite growth in the overall songwriting, and the music as a whole, especially in the piano, sounds better than ever.

The official album doesn't drop until October 14th, but you can stream the entire album on the Billboard site. My hands down favorite at the moment is All Our Lives.

Take a listen and let me know, what's your new favorite song from Andrew?
