Get The Look - "Blank Space" Music Video

Like millions (maybe billions) of other ladies in the world, I am personally obsessed with the Taylor Swift "Blank Space" music video. Not only is it genius, considering the lyrics, it is unbelievably visually appealing. The mansion, the outfits, the guy (hey-o)... but something else I noticed was Taylor's super glamorous makeup look. She rocks two: a darker, more dramatic look at the beginning and end of the video, and a more wearable daytime look. Both feature her signature red lip and a smoky eye (shout-out to the blue smoky eye in the apple scene).

My favorite look of the two is the more dramatic one, so I tried to recreate it and it's surprisingly easy! Here are the essential steps for this look and what I used to get all Blank Space cray-cray.

Smoked-Out Winged Liner
This is surprisingly a super easy dramatic look. I only used two shadows for this: a cool-toned pink champagne for all over the lid, and then a cool-toned gray in the crease and on the lower lash line. I used the two shadows noted here from my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, but you can find similar shades in singles form at the drugstore! (I recommend Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder singles, $4 a piece).  The trick is to really blend the crease well so it creates that gradient effect on the lid. Add minimal mascara to the top and bottom lashes, and don't forget to create Taylor's signature winged liner look with some black liquid or gel!

Dark Red Matte Lip
Obviously a necessity when it come's to a Taylor Swift look, an amazing red lip! This color is a little more deep and dramatic. Revlon's Colorburst Matte Balm in Sultry, $6.99, is the PERFECT color. The trick with the lips is to really define your cupids bow. Since this shade is matte as well, it will last a really long time... and it's gorgeous for the winter!

Subtle Dark Cheek & Lots of Highlighter
In the video, since there is so much going on with Taylor's eye makeup and lipstick, she has a really subtle cheek look going. You can create this look by using a very deep blush (Milani Berry Amore, $, is  a great drugstore find) or just do what I did, and use bronzer as your blush. Instead of really contouring, I just used bronzer inbetween my actual cheekbone and cheek hollow, then I used lots of highlighter on the tops of my cheek and down my nose. It gives that subtle "not too much" cheek look that Taylor is wearing, while also being very brightening.

This look is not only cool, but would be great for any kind of holiday party if you really wanted to go all out!

What is your favorite glamorous scene from Taylor's new video?
xx Mollie
