Girl Meets Glitter: Ipsy Bag, November 2014

November 17, 2014

Aloha friends. I've been a little bit absent lately, due to some traveling, but now I'm BACK BABY!

& I'm back with my November Ipsy bag

For those who don't know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10 and you get full size or deluxe samples of different beauty products. This month's theme was Girl Meets Glitter, which is awesome for the holidays!

Here's what I got in my bag, and my thoughts on all of the items:

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base in Submissive
This reminds me a LOT of Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze, but a more cool-toned version. It's really golden-looking, and would be very pretty as an eyes hadow base, or as an all over the lid color. The consistency is verrrrrry creamy, which is great for application, but may not be so great if you're prone to your eye shadow creasing. It does last allll day long, which makes it just as good as its competitors.
This eye base retails for $14

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil in Ultra Orchid
This pencil is okay. It has amazing potential. It's highly pigmented and contains glitter which is neat and different. It swatches amazing on my hand.. but really only on my hand. When I tried to put it on my eye, you couldn't even see it. It is creamy, but I also don't love pencil eyeliners because they tend to pull on the eye when applying them. Not a fan, but it was worth the effort.
This eye pencil retails for $16

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray
First things first, this stuff is great. I love hairsprays with argan oil in them because it smells great and keeps my hair soft without being stiff. Plus, I really love that it's the travel size, because I am lacking a travel sized hairspray.
This hairspray retails for $2.99

J.Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint in Red Potion
This stuff is really neat if you love a BOLD lip. It's so creamy and pigmented and dries matte. I didn't leave it on long enough to see if it's long wearing, but judging by the pigmentation and that it's matte, it most likely is. Not sure if I'll ever wear this to anywhere but a costume party, though.
This lip paint retails for $4.99

Temptu S/B Highlighter in Pink Pearl
This product I felt the most "meh" about right off the start. Firstly, because of the size. It's not bigger than my "Backspace" key on the keyboard. Secondly, I hate colors like this as a highlighter. It's so white and pearly that it looks really artifical unless you're pale. Also, I'm pretty positive it's supposed to be airbrushed on... soooo...
Based on it's size compared to the full size, this highlighter retails for around $3.50... but I say save yourself $2 and grab an ELF Whipped Highlighter at Target

This month's entire bag retails for $41.50! What a steal, y'all.

Did you get anything you loved in your subscription bags/boxes this month?

xx Mollie
