Ponds Cold Cream - The O.G. Cleansing Balm

November 3, 2014
Lately, cleaning balms have been getting a lot of attention. Everyone calls them "miracle" products, they remove your makeup while also gently cleansing your skin. One that gets the most attention is the Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish. While I'm sure Cleanse and Polish, and Emma Hardie's Moringa Cleansing Balm are worth the hype, they are pretty pricey and hard to get a hold of in the US.
So these things being said, have we all forgotten the original cleansing balm, the "O.G" (original gangster, for those who don't know), Pond's Cold Cream?
Yes, Pond's doesn't come with a fancy hot cloth to remove your makeup, but it still deserves some recognition!

It's been around since the 50's and has been the makeup remover/ moisturizing cleanser of choice for millions of women. It smells super nice and fresh and doesn't strip my face when removing makeup.

I like to use it by warming it up in my hands and rubbing it on top of my makeup all over, even over my eyes, to break down the makeup. Then I get a washcloth wet under warm water and wipe all of the goop away. You won't even believe how easily it takes everything off.

You can get the Pond's Brand Cold Cream at any drugstore or super market around for around $9.50 or less, or there are even off brands such as the CVS Cold Cream Cleanser that contains the same ingredients for $2 or $3 cheaper.

When I worked at a nursing home in college, there were
women who swore by Pond's Cold Cream to remove their makeup their whole life, and you could seriously tell a difference.

Bottom line is, there's really no other way I'm ever going to remove my makeup as long as I walk this earth. I even travel with this stuff, it is holy grail status y'all.

Are there any amazing makeup removing products you love to use?

xx Mollie

  1. The "OG cleansing balm"- I love it! And it's so true. Pond's knows what they're doing- a brand that has been around for ages and is trusted by generations of women can't be wrong. :)

    Great post, girl!
