Easy Mulled Christmas Wine Recipe

December 12, 2014
The holidays are merry not just because of the lights and cheer... but also because of the extra celebrations... which usually involve drinking.
As as stereotypical girl in her early 20s, I love wine. But a wine that is festive and warm for winter? You don't even have to ask. I've always loved the idea of making mulled wine on my own, but didn't really have a reason to until I had everyone over for an ornament exchange. Not to toot my own horn or anything, but it was deeeelicious... (beep beep).
Here is what I used and how I made my new favorite winter drink!

Mulled Christmas Wine Recipe:
2-3 bottles of Cabernet Sauvignon
3 Oranges (for fresh orange juice & garnish)
1 cup of white sugar
2 tsp allspice
2 tsp cinnamon
6 cinnamon sticks
6 whole cloves

1. Open the Wine
2. Squeeze the oranges for the juice
3. Add the wine, orange juice, sugar, spices, cinnamon stick and cloves into crock pot or stove top
For Crockpot:
4. Cook on high, covered, for two hours
5. Uncover and switch settings to low to serve throughout the night
For Stovetop:
4. Bring liquid to a boil
5. Set to low, or simmer, to serve throughout the night

Serve & enjoy!!!

What is your favorite festive holiday drink?!
