Parisian Beauty Inspiration

I know I'm few months early for Bastille day, and maybe it was my recent romp around the French Quarter, but I have been majorly inspired by French beauty lately.

The French way to beauty is to look leisurely: not too put-together or over the top.
Hair should be messy yet pretty, and makeup shouldn't take too long. Not putting in too much effort is what makes them look so chic. Even skincare shouldn't be too fussy or overdone!

I have gathered a lot of my inspiration from this book I picked up last year, Paris Street Style.
This book has incredible photos of real Parisian women on the street, as well as interviews from heavy hitting fashion and beauty icons based in the city.

Something else I'd like to thank the French for: Micellar water.
They started it all off with La Roche Posay and Bioderma, and it has finally trickled down to the states. Micellar water is amazing for low-maintenance skin-cleansing or makeup removal. My favorite is the Simple Cleansing Water. For this France, I will be forever grateful.

As far as makeup goes, these ladies love a clean look. Maybe a pop of sheer red lip (like my favorite from BareMinerals in Game Changer) to brighten the face, with a light coat of mascara. Eyeliner on the lower and upper waterline, but nearly bare on the rest of the face. Nails should be clean and feminine.

Thank you women of France for the pastries, the outfits, the purses, and the beauty inspiration which allows me to get out the door 15 minutes faster. Thank you.

Here are some French beauty babes for some major inspiration:
