Hitting Pan

July 14, 2016

If you've ever watched a YouTube video or read a blog post where someone excitedly says "I've hit pan on this!" you might be confused.

"Hitting Pan" is when you use a product so much, usually a powder product, that when you can actually see the pan in which the makeup sits. It's usually silver and mirror-like, and for what seems like not a huge deal to the average person, is a huge deal to the beauty-obsessed.
Hitting pan means a product is so well-loved, that you have almost used it all up, which is impressive when you may have several blushes, eyeshadows, bronzers, etc.

Today I thought I would share with you 4 of my most favorite powder products in which I've recently hit pan. AKA, my most beloved:

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light

This powder is absolutely stunning for dry skin, especially in the winter or if you are super pale, which is why I picked it up last fall. It sets your makeup without making you look flat. It gives your skin a beautiful luminous glow, and is almost like an instagram filter for your face. It's too light for me at the moment, but I will be pulling this back out when the colder months hit!

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

This bronzer is the perfect neutral color. It's not too warm, it's not too gray, so you can achieve a healthy bronze glow and contour at the same time. It also smells just like chocolate.. be still my heart! The formula is smooth, completely matte, and pretty for all skin tones.

Rimmel Stay Matte Transparent Pressed Powder

Although my skin is dry, I run the risk of getting kind of greasy because of all of my hydrating skincare, especially in the summer. My favorite way to combat that is with this extremely inexpensive powder. Nothing makes my skin more matte or lasts longer than this powder! You can get it at ay drugstore, and it also smells like vintage makeup, which is a pretty cool touch.

NARS Orgasm Blush
This blush is a cult classic for a reason. It looks good on every single person and just gives your cheeks a gorgeous, long-lasting peachy-pink golden look. It's just beautiful and still to this day remains the only blush I have ever used up.
