Tumeric, Golden Milk Latte

For those of you savvy on Instagram, you may have noticed a mysterious golden looking latte showing up on your feed. It looks pretty, but how does it taste? The answer is "delicious." This latte will by no means give you any kind of caffeine boost, but it is super delicious, very cozy, is packed with anti-oxidants and will just make you feel calm and overall really great.

One of my favorite flavors in the world is ginger. I love the spicy/sweet taste it gives off and I think it is incredibly cozy when mixed with other sweet spices such as cinnamon. Tumeric is kind of the cousin to ginger. It can be a bit bitter, but has the same kind of spice, especially when added into dishes. Tumeric, like ginger, is also amazing for its anti-inflammatory properties which means beautiful skin and happy tummies. Also, it's great if you have any achy joints.

Give it a try and let me know if you like it! I'm guessing if you love other spicy drinks such as chai, you will absolutely enjoy this drink!

Tumeric Latte (Golden Milk Latte)

Ingredients:
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1/2 tablespoon of manuka honey or other natural sweetener
1/2 tsp of tumeric powder
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/2 tsp of ginger powder
1 pinch of black pepper
(Optional: If you're feeling wild, add in some unsweetened cacao powder for a chocolate flavor!)

Instructions:
1. Add the almond milk onto the stove in a pot for 2-4 minutes (until hot)

2. Whisk in remaining ingredients into milk and blend

3. Pour drink into desired mug (Optional: Foam drink with a milk frother)

4. Garnish with a dash of cinnamon and enjoy!

  1. This is a winter time regular in our mother's homes. The moment you feel even a little tickle in your through you get the honey and turmeric milk. After a lifetime of drinking it I am so over it.. but it does bring back warm memories.

  3. The golden latte sounds so good, I'm pretty sick with a cold at the moment so anything with ginger in is sounding so good to me!
