Our Trip to New York - Photo Diary

January 31, 2018

Last weekend Max and I went to New York City for a fun trip together. We both had been a bunch before we met, but never with each other. It was so fun showing each other our favorite things about the city and experiencing new things together. I thought I'd share some of my favorite photos and experiences from our weekend.

We flew into the city and ran a few errands before heading off for drinks at Gotham Grille (which was amazing by the way, highly recommend!) and dinner at Il Cantinori, The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. We also told them we just recently had gotten engaged, so they were extra nice to us!

On Saturday Morning we woke up and did something I had always wanted to do, SoulCycle! I spared you from photos of that, but it was so fun and we really did enjoy ourselves. It was also nice to get a workout in with all of the incredible food we devoured.
Later that morning we went to Tavern on the Green in Central Park and then strolled around the park and City for a while. We spontaneously decided to pop into the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MoMA) to view Starry Night and some paintings by Monet. I'm so glad we randomly did that because it was so beautiful to see these classics in person.

After that we strolled around SoHo to do some shopping before heading out to dinner at Benjamin's Steakhouse. This is another high recommendation! They serve Peter Luger steaks which are the best. The atmosphere is very lively and of course the food was killer. After dinner, we decided to stroll uptown for a drink at Cafe Carlyle inside the Carlyle Hotel. There was live jazz and the drinks were great (and also very strong).

On Saturday we woke up early and did some wedding shopping for Max (more of that to come after the wedding) and then quickly headed to Broadway where we saw Hamilton! This was probably the highlight of the trip for the both of us because it was incredible. Broadway shows are the best and Hamilton may have been the best I ever saw.
Later that evening we strolled over to Brooklyn to see some friends and go out to dinner and drinks at a place called Colonie in Brooklyn Heights. It was so much fun and Brooklyn is such a neat and different area to check out if you are in the city.

One Sunday morning we had some time, so we went to go grab the ever-famous Cronut (which was amazing) and a cup of coffee. Max was feeling peckish, so later we stopped by Cafe Habana where he got some street corn. I had a bite and it was unbelievably delicious.
The final thing we did before taking flight was go for a short walk on the Brooklyn Bridge. Neither one of us had ever done this before, and the views were absolutely stunning.

New York City never ceases to amaze me! Although we did a ton of great stuff, there is always so much to do. We will definitely be back and I am counting down the days.

  1. Sounds like you had an amazing time in NYC, thanks for sharing your adventure! Also, congratulations on your engagement! :)
